On Email: How it's Like Postal Mail

December 16, 2013 by Eric and Steve

Sometimes it seems like the holiday season is the busiest time of the year. This is especially true for the U.S. Postal Service, which unlike Amazon has yet to announce any future plans for delivery drones. During the holidays, we Americans send out enough greeting cards and packages to overload even the most magical of delivery systems, and yet somehow things still manage to find their way.

This week, we use Suite 131 as place to get informative and to compare the magic of email to the United States Postal Service. The similarities are multiple, and the endpoints are exactly the same: Delivering written communication. The biggest difference is that while one takes seconds, the other takes days.

The Amazon Marketing Coup

December 10, 2013 by Eric and Steve

Just last week, Amazon announced future plans for a hi-tech drone based delivery system called Amazon Prime Air. Prime Air is years off in the future, as the technical and regulatory challenges Amazon will face throughout development are immense. For the time being, however, Prime Air has scored Amazon nothing short of a marketing coup, just as the holiday shopping season kicks into high gear. If Bezos can do it, why can’t you?

Film Festival, Mobile Friendly, and Dedicated Servers

Why We Recommend Hosting On a Dedicated Server

November 4, 2013 by Eric and Steve

One of our core beliefs here at Intersites is that creating a website is a lot like taking a trip to a foreign country. The analogies we can use to illustrate this connection are many, but one of the most straightforward and universal is that when it comes to web hosting you get what you pay for and exactly nothing more.

Another successful year with The Chicago International Film Festival

October 28, 2013 by Eric and Steve

Blame the fall weather if you'd like, but here at Intersites we've been feeling reflective. We can't believe it, but it's been 4 years since we first starting working with Cinema/Chicago on the Chicago International Film Festival. That's 4 years of sustainment, adaptation, growth, and free tickets - to one of the largest film fests in the world.
